The Essence

Vaayu brings together eight heritage properties — each a restored haveli, baoli, or zamindar house — spread across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and coastal Karnataka. We chose the name Vaayu, meaning wind, because wind carries memory. It moves between rooms and generations, connecting what was with what is.

Each Vaayu property is painstakingly restored in collaboration with heritage architects and local craftspeople. Antique jaalis, hand-laid stone floors, vintage teak furniture — nothing is imitated. Everything is original.

Our guests do not check in to a room. They step into a chapter of India's architectural story — one with hot water, great lighting, and a sommelier.

Every property is a listed or documented heritage structure. No new-builds dressed in antique finishes. Only the real thing.

80% of our staff, suppliers, artisans, and ingredients are drawn from within 30km of each property. Luxury should benefit its community.

No TVs in rooms. No activity schedules. Nothing competing with the silence of a 200-year-old courtyard at dusk.

Story Access

Each guest receives a property history booklet and has access to a heritage narrator — a local expert who tells the stories the walls hold.
